city hospitality

we can't really describe today, at least not fully in this spot. we spent the morning in a gathering of other followers. we listened to a new language and found common songs through the music played. we sang along as well as we could. we shared the bread and the cup.

we left and traveled to the home of a woman who demonstrated hospitality. for seven hours she demonstrated hospitality. a light meal then a full (and we do mean full) meal from soup to dessert. we sat and had conversations. we shared our stories with one another. and we encouraged her but not beyond how she challenged and encouraged our group.

we learned we need to visit more in one another's homes. that we need to have deep honest conversations. that we need to tell one another our stories. that good happens when we take time and not rush.

we look forward to telling you the full story when we return. we are healthy and not rain today! thank you for continuing to support us throughout the day. c.t.

You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers, City Team!! Much love to Tori!! I have never been more proud!! Today at church many people were asking about you, and I made copies of the blog address and people took them. YOu have touched so many lives here, too. At work, it gives me great joy to share with everyone what you are doing for The LOrd!! You are a testimony to people you havent met! The effects are far reaching. Thank you for touching so many lives, and mine too, in such a profound way!! I love you so much, Sweety!! I cant wait to hear all about all the wonderful adventures you've had, and the people you've met along the way. I know the Lord will continue to bless you and your team and use you in a mighty way! Have a wonderful rest of your trip! Love Always, MOM

Well, Julie girl, we're missing you around here! Are you keeping any kind of journal? We want to hear all the stories of your adventures and your conversations and your thoughts about them all. We love you tons, and can't wait to have you home. (After this trip, you had better not be thinking of going to college THAT far away!) Happy Valentine's Day (it's still the 14th here).

Isn't it amazing that in a world filled with inconsistencies, you found complete consistency as you met with the followers.
.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers - what a strong learning experience this has been for the younger brothers and sisters back home. We have had many "teachable moments" with them as we've talked about your trip.
.
Can't wait to see you, J!
Love,
Dad

So wonderful to read all the updates and fill everyone in here at home with how you are all doing! Tori, you and the rest of the team are all in our prayers every night. The kids ask at some point each day, "What do you think Tori is doing right now?" So, we check the clock and take a guess! We love you and are so proud of the work you are all doing there. We'd love to know if there are any special prayer requests for the team. Maybe in a future post?

It is nice to read that the team is finding out that face to face conversations are far better than facebook. Praying for you all and can't wait for the FBC update Sunday.
