Today we had the opportunity of going to a near by AIDS trust, when we first arrived we joined the workers for their devotions. They started in traditional Zulu fashion where one person started singing a song they were lead to by the Spirit. The devotional that was shared encouraged each of us to wake up daily with a positive outlook. We were taught about the AIDS trust and the self-sustainability of it. After being given a tour of the facility at the end we walked into a garden where there was a memory wall, of all the people that have stayed at the trust and passed away. This moment was emotional for us all, and touched us in different ways. God has been breaking our hearts and showing us his redeeming love for the people we have encountered. Tonight we will be joining Westville Baptist church and doing street ministry. We need to run now to eat some South African pizza! Thanks for all the prayers!
Praying for you DR and City teams!

Sounds like God is really showing himself, not only to the people of SA, but to each of the SA Team. In a few days, you will be stateside thinking your journey has ended, but I pray that this journey is just the beginning to what the Lord will do each of your lives. Continuing to pray for each of you as you share and serve.

Wow; I can imagine the emotion felt standing in the midst of that garden. I am happy to hear that God is breaking hearts, to rebuild them once again ;) I know when whoever it was started singing in the Spirit, you felt right at home!! lol a sunday isn`t a sunday at our church if someone doesn`t kindly "interrupt" the service with a word from above ;p lol
Love you girl!!

Badabadah!
I know I'm totally slacking on the comment-leaving, but I AM praying for you, and missing you double! I hope you're allowing yourself to be still throughout this experience, and as you so often do, acknowledge His lessons amidst such quiet. I love you to pieces, and continually give thanks for a friend like you.
Best,
Rachel
Bethany and Aidan,
I pray the both of you would be challanged by this experience; what you've seen and heard, however it is that God may be speaking to you, my prayer is that you'll bear the burden of a broken world. As we so often speak about your actions originating from an overflow, I truly pray that such would be the case; as you return home and face the seemingly mundane happenings of your worlds, I pray that you would have new eyes for the things you've always considered normal.
Looking forward to your stories!
Rachel
Just as an aside..
It doesn't surprise me in the least that Ababa would be one of the ones to lose their luggage; makes total sense!
Ababa, you know what I'm saying.. figures.
Dan - this is Mom's note she accidently posted to The City's blog. She asked if I could move so you would be sure to see it.
Love Ya - Dad
Hi Dan,
Love reading about all you are doing on the trip. I am having a vacation adventure of my own as Aunty Nadine is here with me in Florida. In a few days we will be together again sharing stories of our experiences...
I am so proud of you and all that you do. This is an incredible opportunity for others to see Christ through you and the team...go overflow!
Love you more, Mom (Romans 15:13)
Dearest Teresita, the week is winding down, but I'm certain that God isn't. I agree w/one of the blogs about God breaking hearts to mend them even stronger. I envision that for you. You, my girl, are a tough cookie, full of life & fun, but you are also extremely sensitive filled with deep, deep love, for God & others, especially those who suffer. Keep growing. Keep learning. God will keep using you for His Glory. I am so glad you are with Ken & his group in SA. It's where you needed to be. To HIM be all Glory!! Return safely, Lourdes :)
Hi Lynn, glad to hear you are having a great time, as I knew you would. You are amazing & your team is lucky to have you with them. As always, I am very proud of you and all that you do. enjoy your last couple days, & have a safe trip back. Can't wait to see you & hear all about your experiences!
love you, Mom
